Keri L. McLean From Tap in New York City to Ballet and NFL Cheerleading in Washington D.C., and Hip Hop tours throughout India and East Asia, Keri is grateful that dance has allowed her to travel the world while sharing her passion for the performing arts. A strong advocate for versatility, Keri believes it is a vital foundation for any successful and sustainable career in the arts. Her diverse experience spans musical theatre as a Triple Threat, professional vocal performer in Swing and Caroling ensembles, and commercial and print media work. Raised in the Luigi style of Jazz, she lives by his guiding principle: “Never stop moving.” This philosophy not only informs her artistic expression but also fuels her advocacy for movement as a tool for lifelong physical and mental well-being. Keri expanded her training as a young adult to include competitive Ballroom, Swing, Latin, and Country dance, further enriching her range as a performer and educator. Today, she travels internationally as a judge, coach, choreographer, emcee, and performer, alongside her professional dance and life partner, Shane, as part of ShaneKeriDance (SKDance). Together, they hold multiple 2nd place world titles at The Open Swing Dance Championships, the premier global Swing competition, where they have remained consistently in the Top 5 since 2010. Keri has served as a judge for the illustrious Starpower International Talent Competition as well as other national eisteddfods, adjudicating events across the Americas and Austral-Asia, and has also appeared as a judge on the international television phenomenon "Dance Moms." Her experience across both competitive and commercial platforms brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to her feedback and mentorship. Keri previously owned a successful dance studio in Denver, Colorado, where she and Shane also developed and sustained non-profit outreach programs providing dance and fitness education to underprivileged youth. They have since returned to Sydney, Australia, Shane’s hometown, while continuing to teach and perform around the world. Their work regularly takes them across the U.S., South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, where their students and dance communities keep them in high demand. Keri is honored to be an educator and takes great pride in contributing to the development of young artists. She is passionate about helping performers grow in both skill and confidence, while creating a positive and enriching performance experience.
